Neighborhoods, Activations, Events & Happenings at DJX ’24

The Scramble, East Coast Portable Battle, DJX Annex, Influencer Space with Electro-Voice, Sunset Sessions & more!

Grammy-nominated DJ/producer Scram Jones, in collaboration with DJX, launched The Scramble, which showcased a lineup of diverse DJs that included Just Blaze, Throdown, Skribble, K-Sprinkles, Mell Starr, AS-1, Buck Rogers, Nick Spinelli, Boogie Blind, and DJ Ease. Hosted by Rock And Soul at the Technics booth on Aug. 7, The Scramble presented the DJs performing open-format sets centered around the “scrambling” of music genres, while incorporating the market’s newest DJ technologies.

“I had a great time launching ‘The Scramble’ at DJX. I always wanted to have my own event with DJs I respect. It was more of a showcase, but I hope to grow it into a moving party for music lovers. Shout out to all the DJs that participated.”
– Scram Jones, DJ/Producer, NYC

Other new ventures included: the anticipated East Coast Portable Battle @ DJX, a collaboration between Jesse Dean Designs, Rock and Soul Records; Master Classes in the show’s Education sector; the DJX Wedding Lounge; The Influencer Space, an Electro-Voice collab; DJ.Style (a Crate Hackers brand), allowed guests to build their own functional, sweatproof DJ necklaces at DJ.Style's one-of-a-kind Build-Your-Own-Necklace Bar; and Luther, street legal, military grade Humvee turned uncontested mobile DJ Booth.

The return of the DJX Portable Pop-Up, curated by Jesse Dean Designs and Rock and Soul Records, added an innovative and dynamic element to the DJX show floor. The DJX Vinyl Concept Shop, a collaboration with Rock and Soul Records and DJX, made waves in its second rendition at DJX after a successful launch at DJX ’23.  The shop celebrates the rich tradition of vinyl, showcasing an extensive collection of rare finds from the Rock and Soul archives. It serves as a great place to meet with vinyl enthusiasts, immerse yourself in the timeless culture of vinyl DJing, and help us reinforce our commitment to honoring the roots of DJ culture while embracing its evolving future.

Another significant addition in ’24 was the DJX Annex meet-up space, an add-on to the show floor designed to further foster community and connection. This meetup space honors the importance of community and connections. Attendees took a break from exploring the show floor and chopped it up with other DJs, networked and met other likeminded individuals, posing with friends at the selfie station, and photo ops with some of the world’s leading DJs, this was just the beginning for the Annex!

“DJX 2024 was an incredible success… This year, we reinforced our commitment to supporting the hard-working DJs who, week after week, rely on top-tier performance speakers to power their events. From our booth to the vibrant EV DJX Influencer activation area, we are thrilled to have been part of DJX – such a dynamic event – and we look forward to continuing our support for the DJs who trust in Electro-Voice.” – Marco Arujo, Electro-Voice, Burnsville, Minn.
